Time has really flown by! I feel like it was just yesterday that I put my site on the web. My heartfelt thanks to all of you who have taken the time to visit and look at my work.
After completing my tile bench and other tile projects in 2008, including this set, “Tree of Life with Spirits,” I am looking forward to another busy year. I continue to work on new projects at my home studio, and in April I will be attending two very important conferences:
April 8 to 11, 2009
NCECA, in Phoenix, Arizona
Website: The National Council on Education for the Ceramic Arts
Thousands of ceramic artists will gather to discuss clay, working in ceramics and much more.
April 25 through May 1, 2009
ISCAEE Symposium
Seoul, South Korea
Website: International Society for Ceramic Arts Education and Exchange
I will present a lecture entitled “About Heat and Fire.” I am so excited about this trip; it will be my first journey to South Korea. Although I have read about South Korean customs and traditions for honoring ancestors and loved ones who have passed away, I am looking forward to the opportunity to learning more about these practices while I’m there.
